A miraculous recovery from hydrocephalus, which was said to be an incurable disease. I want to walk a life of gratitude.
(Last Update: )
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1991. At the age of 19, I suffered a brain hemorrhage due to an arteriovenous malformation and developed hydrocephalus. I was temporarily certified as disabled but miraculously recovered and entered HSU in 2015. I currently work at a retail store.
At 19, O.T. experienced a brain hemorrhage and hovered between life and death.
I will introduce the story of overcoming the crisis of possibly losing my life and achieving a miraculous recovery.

"Hydrocephalus," said to be an incurable disease.
In April 2011, during my time as a ronin, I suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed at home, being taken to the hospital by ambulance.
A mass of blood vessels called an arteriovenous malformation ruptured, causing bleeding in my brain.
I survived a 10-hour open brain surgery, but due to aftereffects, I developed hydrocephalus, where water accumulated in the ventricles and enlarged. My memory could no longer be retained, and my cognitive ability dropped to that of a kindergarten child.
The doctor told me I would not fully recover, and I was certified as disabled. Due to my body's rejection response, two surgeries did not go well, and my mother and people from the Happy Science branch prayed for me.
Then, by July, my memory began to stabilize.
The key to recovery was...
After that, I recovered to the point where I could go to the bathroom by myself and was able to read the scriptures of Happy Science. Then in August, I was discharged unusually early.
(I wonder why I was able to recover so quickly)
As I pondered, the figures of my mother and the people from the branch who continued to pray for me came to mind.
(Surely, with the faith of many people, the prayers reached God. I was helped by God.)
I also remembered failing my entrance exams while regaining my memory, but the joy of being alive was greater, and I felt no sadness at all.
After that, I began to regularly go for prayers myself, and in October, I received a 'Health Doubling Prayer' at the Hakone Seijō. At that time, I felt enveloped in God's warm light and a sense of happiness welled up inside me.
(I am loved by God.)
A month later, a miracle occurred. The water in the ventricles decreased by 70-80%. I could only think of it as God's power, and my gratitude deepened.
Overcoming the point deduction mentality. And towards full recovery—
The following year, at the suggestion of a staff member at the Hakone Seijō, I began unsui training (a practice of focusing on the mind while doing chores at the temple). However, initially, there were many tasks I could not do, and I focused only on those, suffering from a point deduction mentality. At such times, a temple instructor told me, 'It's okay to improve one by one.'
(That's right, I should try to find more of the 'capable me.')
Every day, I set small goals like 'let's be positive' and discovered the 'capable me' during reflection time. Also, during meditation, I began to be able to affirm myself little by little by imagining myself 'shining as a child of God.'
At one point due to my illness, I could only 'be alive,' but I deeply felt the gratitude of being able to do more things. Gradually, I gained confidence and was able to overcome the point deduction mentality.
In April, through the training of reflection and meditation, a miracle occurred. The water in the ventricles receded and returned to its original size, and hydrocephalus was completely cured. In October, I was safely removed from the disability certification.
I might have originally died, but I received an 'extra life' from God. It is not a given that I am alive now. With this gratitude in my heart, I want to live each day with care and convey the teachings of God who saved me.

DOCTOR'S COMMENT
Neurosurgeon O.K.
Hydrocephalus rarely heals naturally without surgery. It seems that the water in the ventricles naturally balanced out, but I think it is an extremely miraculous recovery.
If we do not live with the thought of each day being a lifetime, we may face death at any moment.
