Sudden severe pain and hospitalization

"Ugh, ugh!"
On January 3, 2016, while having dinner together, my husband's face suddenly turned pale, and he grabbed a plastic bag nearby and started vomiting everything he had eaten.
"Dad, what's wrong?"
"It hurts... my stomach..."
I gave him some gastrointestinal medicine that we had at home, but the symptoms did not subside, and he lay down holding a pillow, enduring the pain. The next morning, my husband still did not seem well.
"Dad, you have to go to the hospital."
I said this as I left for work. In the evening, after finishing work, I checked my phone and saw several missed calls from an unfamiliar number. When I called back, I was connected to a large hospital in the neighboring city and was informed that my husband had been admitted urgently. I rushed to the hospital in my work clothes.
"Your husband has severe acute pancreatitis. He was in a critical condition for a while."
Severe acute pancreatitis is a serious illness that leads to death in about 10% of cases. According to the doctor, my husband's condition suddenly worsened after arriving at the nearby hospital, and he lost consciousness. Since that hospital could not provide treatment, he was transported by ambulance to this hospital, where treatment to suppress the inflammation of the pancreas was performed.
Although my husband survived, he needed to be hospitalized for 2 to 3 weeks until the inflammation subsided. It was said that due to the necrotic pancreas, fluid would leak and accumulate in his body, and they would have to observe the progress and later perform surgery to remove it.

Actually, I was also suffering from an illness at that time. I had been feeling anemic for some time, struggling with dizziness and poor health, so about two months before my husband collapsed, I had a gynecological check-up in town. At that time, a polyp about 4 cm in size was found in my uterus. The doctor said, "Since the polyp is getting larger, it would be better to remove it." However, I needed to treat my anemia before the surgery, and I started going to the hospital every day after work for iron injections.

We have five children, and the four older ones are already adults. The youngest, my second son, has also become a high school student and is less of a burden, so while continuing treatment for anemia, I thought about the future and changed to a full-time job. My husband's hospitalization happened just at that time. It felt like a series of difficulties were suddenly crashing down on us. However, as a couple, we learned in Happy Science that "the hardships of life are opportunities to refine the heart." I thought, "There must be meaning in this situation," and tried to take it positively.
Even so, when I felt anxious, I called my mother-in-law who lives in Kagawa Prefecture. She was the one who conveyed the faith of Happy Science to us.

Feeling the joy of prayer

"Dad, were you able to sleep yesterday?"
"The doctor gave me morphine, so I was able to sleep a little."
My husband, who had been a strong athlete since his student days, could no longer eat after being hospitalized, and he lost 10 kg, and his cheeks became hollow.

However, my husband's condition was severe, and even after a month, there was no prospect of discharge.
"I wonder if we can manage living expenses..."
"I'm sorry for being a burden. I'll get better soon."
Such conversations increased. But I think my husband, who cares about his family, felt the most frustration at being unable to do anything. Taking advantage of my husband's hospitalization, I started reading the scriptures of Happy Science every day and began to pray to the deities. Then, strangely, I felt a light shining into my body, and I started to feel warm.

I reflected on how I had not been able to take time to pray sincerely to the deities amidst the busyness of daily life. When I prayed, I was filled with an indescribable sense of happiness, and my anxious feelings disappeared. And for some reason, I began to deeply feel that being alive like this now is truly something to be grateful for.

Then, around February, my husband was finally able to have a temporary discharge. However, since it was dangerous for the fluid accumulating around the pancreas to circulate in the body, the doctor warned him to be sure to rest until the fluid solidified and he could undergo surgery.
After returning home, my husband began to read the "Shinshin Hōgo" (the fundamental scripture of Happy Science) open_in_new every day, praying for the happiness of the family and the recovery from illness, and he started to value the time to reflect on his heart.
"It must be tough at work. I'll prepare dinner for you."
Even though he could only eat porridge, he became even kinder, cooking for the family.

The movie that changed our fate

While continuing his home treatment, my husband went to the hospital once a week to check the condition of the fluid accumulating in his body. Around that time, the release date of the 10th movie of Happy Science, "I'm Fine with Angels," was approaching, and a friend from Happy Science told me, "This is a movie that brings miracles to those who watch it."
"Dad, do you want to go see it together?"
On the opening day, the two of us went to the local movie theater. "I'm Fine with Angels" is an omnibus story where five protagonists, each facing life's problems such as illness, bullying, and financial difficulties, solve their worries guided by angels. One of the protagonists is a woman who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and given a prognosis of limited time to live.
（The suffering of illness is not someone else's problem...）
That woman falls into great misfortune after her cancer is discovered, but eventually realizes that the cause of her cancer was her own mindset. And when she is able to forgive herself under the guidance of angels, a miracle occurs, and her cancer disappears. When I saw the scene in the movie where angels from heaven gather and pray for the people on earth, I was struck.

My heart warmed. I was able to be certain that when we are troubled and suffering, the deities and angels are always by our side, giving us strength. When I looked next to me, my husband, who usually falls asleep as soon as he comes to the theater, was watching intently. When the movie ended, I felt a warmth in my heart and a lightness in my body.
"Dad, our illnesses might be cured just like in this movie."
"I hope so. I felt that if I truly believe in the deities, my life will open up," he said.
We left the theater feeling very happy.

A miracle occurred for the two of us that surprised even the doctors

Our wish was granted nine days after watching the movie.
"For some reason, the fluid that had been accumulating around the pancreas has disappeared. That's strange."
When my husband went to the hospital to decide on the date for surgery, the fluid that had always appeared on the ultrasound was nowhere to be found, and the doctor was genuinely surprised and said:
"This is a 'miracle.' Surgery is not necessary."
That night, when I returned from work, my husband joyfully told me about this event. Furthermore, about a week later, a miracle happened to me as well.
"Huh, it's gone. The polyp..."
When I went to the hospital for a check-up, strangely, the polyp had disappeared. Not only my husband but I also no longer needed surgery.

After that, my husband completely regained his health, found re-employment, and now works energetically every day. I have also recovered from anemia and am busy with work and housework every day.
