How to Recover from Job Search Failures

When you fail to get a job, it feels painful as if your entire personality has been denied.
However, that does not mean you are a worthless person.
The path to success is such that when one door closes, another door opens.
God has properly prepared a path for you to succeed in life.
I have selected a prescription for the mind to succeed in job hunting from the teachings of President Ryuho Okawa.
Do not regard exams as absolute
It is good to have entered a large company that many people in the world envy, but more than half of those cannot even become section chiefs. On the other hand, there are people who could not enter that company and ended up in second or third-rate companies, but rise to executive positions or even become presidents there.
Many people who have become presidents of so-called large companies say, "I applied to XX and failed during my job search." Some even enter rival companies of those they failed to get into and become presidents there.
This means that while the HR section hires people who can become presidents at other companies, they also hire those who cannot even become section chiefs and end up remaining as regular employees.
There are many such cases in the world, so you should not consider company interviews as divine judgments.
Do your best in the current environment
For many of you, the company you are currently working for may not have been your first choice during the job application process, and there may have been other companies you wanted to join. Ultimately, you may have ended up choosing the current company, which was not your first choice, from several options. You might have thought, "I failed to get into my first and second choices, and this company was my third choice," or "This company was my fifth choice," or "I couldn't get into the company I hoped for, but I happened to get into this company because there was an opening."
However, there are not many people in the world who can get a job at their first-choice company.
Moreover, even those who managed to get a job at their first-choice company may not have truly considered it their lifelong destiny; many chose it for reasons like "the reputation is high," "the company is well-known," or "the salary seems high."
For those who choose a company for reasons like "all my school friends want to go there" or "it ranks high in popularity," whether that job should be their lifelong career may not be a serious issue.
High-level spirits in the heavenly realm, such as guardian spirits and guiding spirits, have no compelling reason to support such people. The question is, "Why should we put so much effort into supporting someone who chooses a job based solely on reputation?"
In modern times, many people become salarymen, but whether it was their first choice or not, it is important to think, "I have a connection with this company. I have found my destiny here." Those who think, "I entered this company because of a connection. My destiny lies here," will rise rapidly in that company, achieve success, and ultimately live as if they are fulfilling their destiny.
However, if there are people among colleagues, subordinates, or superiors who continuously complain, "I should not have entered this company. It was a mistake," what will happen to those people in the company?
For example, if a new employee says from the first day, "I should not have entered such a company," everyone around them would likely say, "You are making the workplace environment worse, so you should quit soon."
Alternatively, if a new employee full of motivation hears from a senior at the company, "You shouldn't come to such a company. Did you make a mistake in choosing your company?" they may lose their motivation.
Employees who complain have a negative impact on the company. This is true even if their position is lower, but the higher their position, the greater the harm.
If such a person is in a managerial position, the harm can be quite significant.
Therefore, it is important not to be overly concerned with public opinion or what others say, but to think, "I will discover my destiny in the company I have a connection with. I will demonstrate my destiny in the company I have a connection with." Even if that company does not have a destiny, those who work hard will find the next path open to them. Those who do not make an effort will not find the next door open.
Not all paths that everyone envies are good
In the world, there are elites who do jobs that many people envy. However, does that mean they have no troubles? Not at all. Even if they seem to walk a path free from setbacks, if you look into their hearts, they too have their own feelings of frustration and are suffering.
Within failure lies the cause of success, and within sorrow lies the seed of joy
Suffering, difficulties, failures, and setbacks are often seen as symbols of bad things in society, but there are aspects that cannot be definitively stated as such. I believe that the perspective of "within failure lies the cause of success, and within sorrow lies the seed of joy" is very important.
People who view the world in a very simplistic, dualistic way may feel, "If there are deities, why is there unhappiness in the world? Why do we have experiences that taste bitterness? Why is there sorrow in encountering death? Why is there sorrow in separation? Why is there suffering called poverty?"
However, such suffering and sorrow are not merely suffering for the sake of suffering or sorrow for the sake of sorrow. What appears as suffering or sorrow is often, in fact, a transformed manifestation of the great love of deities.
In Buddhism, various trials are sometimes referred to as the expedients of Kannon Bodhisattva. Within what appears to be various trials and what seems to be whetstones, there are actually encounters with deities.
Simply growing up healthy as a child, achieving decent grades, progressing to a decent school, getting a decent job, marrying decently, having good children, and aging to die may not lead to encounters with deities.
However, more than ninety-nine percent of people experience setbacks somewhere along the way. They have experiences that keep them awake at night. Everyone has experienced times when they could not eat or sleep, feeling anguish and frustration.
The issue lies in how we evaluate, think about, and perceive those experiences. That is, when encountering such hardships, difficulties, or feelings of frustration and suffering, do we think of them as the existence of evil, curse the world, curse deities, and curse people? Or do we feel something that promotes our growth within them? Do we sense the expedients of deities? Do we feel the great love of deities?
