Q. Is the reason for my continued misfortune that my ancestors are lost?

A. The cause of misfortune lies not with the ancestors, but with the state of the heart that invites misfortune.

The cause of misfortune is not with the lost ancestral spirits.

There is a logic that states, "The reason you are currently unhappy is that your ancestors have not been saved." Many religions express this as, "Because your ancestors from several generations ago have not been saved, you are unhappy now," or, "Your unhappiness is not caused by you, but by your ancestors."
Indeed, it is a reality that deceased parents or grandparents, and those before them, may cling to the living because they are not at peace. Misfortunes caused by such spiritual disturbances do exist. However, fundamentally, the responsibility lies with the hearts of the living on this earth, and it is through this that one's own fortune or misfortune manifests. Even if there are lost ancestral spirits, the reason for the individual falling into hell lies in their way of living, not in the lost ancestral spirits.

First, save your own heart.

It is precisely because the individual is living a hellish life that, according to the law of resonance*, lost ancestral spirits are attached. They are sharing the same suffering, or rather, suffering together. In other words, it is not because such entities are attached that you are unhappy, but because you possess such an unhappy heart that you are inviting them in. While ancestor worship is very important, the starting point must always be the principle of personal responsibility; before saving the dead, one must first save the living. In short, if you do not save your own heart, there will be no one to save you. Only by radiating your own happy and bright light can you also save the lost ancestors. However, if you are someone who is also falling headlong into hell and blaming your family's or predecessors' faults for your unhappiness, you will never be able to attain happiness. This point must not be mistaken. Please understand that "the principle is always personal responsibility."
