HSU students from a corporate perspective

"They are reliable because they can anticipate and work ahead"
Mr. Tokutaro Matsumoto, President of Wedding Box Co., Ltd.
Established Wedding Box Co., Ltd. in 1986. Engaged in the sale and rental of furisode and bridal business. Became a believer in Happy Science in 1990. By making reflection a habit, he expanded the number of stores eightfold by 2004. Currently operates 51 stores nationwide, approaching industry No. 1.
Able to anticipate work and has high logical thinking skills

Through the rental and sale of furisode and wedding dresses, our job is to create the best representation of life’s milestones such as coming-of-age ceremonies and weddings. We provide our customers with "sensory value" of love, beauty, emotion, and happiness, and receive "rational value" that can be converted into money from our customers. That becomes our salary, taxes, and contributes to society. This way of thinking is based on the teachings of Happy Science's "Love that gives (giving love without expecting anything in return)".
Currently, HSU students are entering the field, and they are reputed to be "able to anticipate work". I believe that is because they can think about what the other party wants. Additionally, many of them have high logical thinking skills, making it easy for superiors and seniors to delegate work to them. After all, I think they act based on the "Love that gives" learned from HSU's religious education.
I believe my mission is to produce many people who can create wealth based on the truth of Buddhist law (the universal truth created by Buddha). I have heard that in the HSU Faculty of Management Success, students learn about "how to create wealth," so I would like to utilize that power. Furthermore, I want to nurture successors who can manage based on the truth, not limited to HSU students, and contribute to society, aiming to become "the most desirable company to work for in Japan."
Recently, we started a "Photo Wedding" business where photo planners and stylists coordinate wedding albums. I hope current HSU students will create new things across faculties. If we can create a lot of wealth, I believe Japan can become the world's "leading country".

"They have a positive influence on those around them"
Mr. Yusuke Kobayashi, CFO of Tokyo Consulting Firm Co., Ltd.
◎ Joined Tokyo Consulting Firm Co., Ltd. in 2006. Engaged in consulting services for finance, human resources, labor, and overseas expansion. Has served as the head of the International Business Division and the Management Planning Office, and currently serves as the representative director and CFO. Currently has bases in 44 locations across 27 countries.
Bright and proactive; able to make continuous efforts

Our company conducts consulting business based on a certified public accounting firm. To provide true value to society, each employee must not only accumulate knowledge and experience but also possess the heart and human power to "want to contribute to customers." Since consultants are in a position to guide business owners, it is also important for employees to be able to make continuous efforts.
One characteristic observed in HSU graduates who joined in spring is their willingness to make efforts, their very proactive attitude towards everything, and their ability to communicate smoothly with seniors and superiors. Everyone is making great efforts, and even in their third month of employment, some are serving as instructors in study sessions held within the company or are stationed at customer companies to carry out their duties. They are also actively working hard in activities outside of work. Our company is planning projects to revitalize the company by dividing into several teams, but since participation in individual gatherings is voluntary, we need people who can demonstrate leadership. In that regard, HSU students are leading the teams and advancing the projects, positively influencing the surrounding employees.
I want my employees to have a "axis" of how to live. I have heard that HSU forms a human "axis" through religious education, so I believe such learning is necessary not only for our company but also to thrive in society. Since they learn how to live as a human, how to set goals, and the spirit of contributing to others from a young age, I think that will make a difference. I believe society will continue to change in various ways, but I want to nurture all employees to provide high value. I would be grateful if current HSU students would apply to our company.

The drama leading up to the decision to enroll in HSU
N.D Before entering HSU, I was at a university in America. I wanted to break new ground in cutting-edge fields there. However, when I went, I found that there were quite a few materialists. When I asked a professor about future class plans, he said, "I have class notes, so I will just repeat what I teach. After retirement, I might rent a cottage to live in," and I thought, where did science go? (laughs). I thought science was "the exploration of the unknown", but it was different from my ideals. At that time, I read "Einstein Speaks on Future Physics " (by Takashi Okawa, published by Happy Science) and learned that this world is full of mysteries, and I decided I wanted to research at HSU.
M.Y I wanted to become a math teacher and went to a university in Mie, but one day I heard, "You can still make it in time for the HSU entrance exam." My father is bedridden and cannot speak, but I wanted to dedicate my life to the sacred and to the President, so I said, "Dad, I want to go to HSU." Then my father opened his eyes wide and had a face that said, "OK!!" Seeing that incredibly happy face made me feel, "I can go."
M.K Amazing, so moving. My father was against Happy Science, and I was planning to go to a regular university. However, I was truly moved by the enlightened words of the teachers and seniors I read in the HSU pamphlet, and I made up my mind to attend the information session. At that time, I saw a panel of wealthy people displayed in the introduction space of the Faculty of Management Success, but they were all men, so I thought, "I want to become a wealthy woman." Thinking about those who cannot express their talents due to poverty really pains my heart, so I want to study management and save many people from poverty. By this point, my parents had already divorced, and custody was with my father, but later I was able to transfer custody to my mother, so I could attend HSU.
C.K I see... I entered HSU because I wanted to express God through dance, but I was in Chiba until the Tokyo campus was established, so it was tough to go for auditions. I struggled a lot and once decided, "I will quit HSU". But when I told my seminar teacher about it, they said, "The Lord created the Faculty of Future Creation to leave an 'eternal shadow' through entertainment; are you going to rush out now? Or will you study properly at HSU and spread the Lord's teachings?" At that moment, I reflected, "I was only thinking about myself. I was in a hurry," and that led me to where I am now.
M.Y That's wonderful.
U.Y I was also initially hesitant about advancing to HSU. This was because, when I was in sixth grade, my homeroom teacher criticized Happy Science's political activities during class. At that time, I couldn't refute it, and I felt regretful and sorry for implanting a wrong image of Happy Science in my classmates. So this time, I thought, "I want to be on the side that conveys it" and considered advancing to a regular university. However, when I spoke to a teacher at Happy Science Academy, they asked, "Do you already have what it takes to convey it, Kamijo-kun?" When I thought calmly, I realized, "I have nothing; if I continue like this, I will repeat the same thing." I thought, "As a believer, I need to build my inner self," which was the deciding factor for my enrollment in HSU.
N.D You have a strong conviction.
C.K That's really intense.
Our faculty is the best! Unstoppable faculty love
N.D The Faculty of Future Industries is truly a great place, and in a word, it's freedom. The teachers do not impose research content and allow us to challenge new fields. The teachers are amazing people, such as those who have researched and developed with JAXA and honorary professors from Tsukuba University, yet they are flexible and try to take students to greater heights. We can start research from the first year, and while focusing on results, we can also keep the romance of "challenging the unknown," which is the best.
M.Y The Faculty of Human Happiness is also amazing because we can learn the essence of enlightenment that the teachers have accumulated over decades. Right now, I am being taught about "the Law of Origins" and "Exorcists," and they evaluate how I have transformed myself based on the teachings.
M.K The Faculty of Management Success is really good.
Everyone (laughs).
M.K I feel that management is the study of human studies and profitability to bring people to life. Learning management directly transforms into humanity and helps find dreams. The teachers are also incredible, and I think there is nowhere else where you can learn directly from those who attract the wealth of the universe.
U.Y The Political and Journalism major also prioritizes the Lord's will, and people who love others gather there. Right now, we are researching how to achieve democratization in China and how to establish a religious nation.
C.K The Entertainment and Creator major is also in Tokyo, making it easy to audition, and some classes from the Political and Journalism major are included as required credits, so it's great that we can also build the content to stand in front of people.
You can become a different version of yourself by going to HSU
M.K One of the best things about coming to HSU is that I learned about "God's love", which I didn't understand before.
U.Y After going to HSU, I gradually became able to love people deeply and started to think about making others happy while being close to them.
C.K It's not just as an individual, but I want to live as the mission itself.
M.Y Truly. I also deepened my reflection on my parents and tell them every day, "Thank you for giving birth to me" (laughs).
N.D I was initially a bundle of inferiority complex, but because the people around me accept everything, I gained confidence and was able to change into someone who wants to do something for others.
U.Y I want those who want to find themselves to come to HSU.
C.K Absolutely. There are things you can only learn here!

The charm of HSU as told by the teachersTALK ABOUT HSU

The power of religious education to improve character
Imai Every year, various people enroll at HSU, but what they have in common is that they grow from children to adults as they progress through the grades. Religiously speaking, they change from a position of taking love to a position of giving love. At the beginning of enrollment, it seems that about 40% of people strongly think, 'I want my parents to love me.' However, through practicing faith, their hearts change, and as they advance in grades, the number of people who think 'I want love' decreases.
Ishii That's right. I also teach the teachings of Happy Science in the Faculty of Future Creation, and it seems that the teachings learned in class immediately manifest as life problems, with students saying, 'I'm glad I studied the teachings' and 'The answers were in the words of President Okawa.' In a sensitive youth period, while learning the truth of Buddhism (the universal truth created by Buddha), they can apply it to real life, so their character changes significantly. They start to reflect deeply on themselves and gain courage. By studying at HSU, they can strongly believe that 'I am connected to Buddha at the root.'
Okawa A former professor from a national university who was invited to HSU as a teacher was also surprised by the learning attitude of HSU students. It seems that it is not common for students to study seriously.
Imai Ishii (laughs).
Okawa There is another episode with that professor. This person is my mentor, and while teaching at HSU, they experienced a miracle where their cancer markers improved.
Imai Ishii Wow (surprised).
Okawa They are still healthy and continue to teach throughout the year.
HSU, where religion and practical studies merge
Imai At HSU, we are conducting various cutting-edge research, one of which is the study of the 'mind.' I also teach the 'Eightfold Path' (self-reflection) in class, and through such teachings and faith practices, there are students who recover from illnesses like anorexia, anxiety disorders, and ulcerative colitis. Many illnesses are often caused by the mind, so research on 'the power to change the mind' will likely become important in the future.
Ishii I think you are right. Whether in politics or entertainment, ultimately, the heart is everything. By learning the teachings of the heart, acting skills improve significantly. Those who initially felt strong frustration and failed interviews overcame their worries through interactions with teachings and fellow learners, and became able to understand the hearts of various people, thus improving their 'expression of the heart.'
Okawa That's amazing. In the Faculty of Future Industries, we teach fundamental science subjects that are taught at general universities, and at the same time, students learn the teachings of Happy Science. Additionally, professors from famous universities and teachers who appear on television have launched projects to solve food issues and develop space technology. Furthermore, we are researching hints for future science from President Okawa's 'Future Industry Clairvoyance Reading' and 'Alien Reading.' For example, in 'Spiritual Phenomenon Reading' (by Ryuho Okawa, published by Happy Science), an alien says, 'On primitive Earth, lightning struck and life was born.' Lightning is plasma, and in my laboratory, we are also conducting research to generate plasma underwater. Through this research with students, I hope to unravel the 'mystery of life.'
Achievements of the Faculty of Future Industries: We have obtained four patents, including 'Product Management Server, Automatic Cash Register System, Product Management Program, and Product Management Method.' Additionally, students have made numerous presentations at both domestic academic conferences and international conferences.
Let's realize great ideals together
Imai In the future, I want to produce people who can firmly express their thoughts. After thoroughly learning the education and teachings that form the basis of their ideas, I want to create people who can realize their dreams and hopes.
Okawa I also want to make HSU 'Japan's Silicon Valley.' Each student should have the awareness to become an entrepreneur. President Okawa taught me that 'business started by borrowing someone else's eaves does not succeed,' so I hope to steadily accumulate success and be able to run the research institute with our own profits. HSU has sufficient facilities to obtain university establishment approval, and thanks to President Okawa and all the believers, I believe it is possible to receive a lot of research funding.
Ishii HSU is a place of learning where what you learned will be beneficial after graduation. The Faculty of Future Creation aims to bring down the 'truth, goodness, and beauty' of the heavenly realm to the earthly realm, so I hope students will not conform to the 'common sense' of the world, but grow into talented individuals with conviction who create the source of new civilization and the future.

※ The content of HSU's studies is comparable to that of other universities, but since it is not a university recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, degrees (bachelor's) are not awarded. Those wishing to enroll should understand this before applying. Furthermore, the educational corporation Happy Science Academy will reapply for the establishment approval of Happy Science University (tentative name) to the Ministry of Education in October 2019.
Education that nurtures 'human resources'
What is the overwhelming difference between other universities and HSU? Here, we introduce the founder's thoughts and educational policies.
HSU itself is a 'challenge to the unknown'
HSU was not created just to learn what already exists. If that were the case, there would have been no need to create it. What already exists is taught at existing universities, so there is no need to create it deliberately. Since it has been deliberately created, it means that 'we are trying to throw you into the anxiety of that 'challenge to the unknown.'
For those who want to run straight on a path where the rails are already laid and the future is visible, unfortunately, it may not be a suitable school. However, for those who say, 'Isn't the 'challenge to the unknown' interesting?' it is a school that can change in any way.
I want to create 'human resources that can generate added value from zero'
Regarding employment, it seems that some anxious staff are investigating and talking to various places, but I don't think there is much to worry about. What is imposed on you? At HSU, fundamentally, we teach 'to create something from nothing.' 'Create added value from zero, and create something that allows humans to build a path of development and prosperity' is the basic philosophy of our university. Therefore, I want to cultivate human resources who can start something even if they stand alone.
The next stage is to train individuals who, when they enter a company of about 20 to 30 people, will quickly grow that company to hundreds or thousands of people and expand into new fields.
For those who think, 'Okay, shall I create something new from zero?' or 'Shall I transform something small into something huge?' I believe it is a very attractive university.
Learning the teachings of Happy Science cultivates 'capable individuals.'
Furthermore, to mention another characteristic, although it has a religious backbone, there are aspects that are almost impossible in other religions. That 'impossible aspect' is that what is transmitted from the essence of religion, the 'teachings,' contains a considerable amount of practical knowledge. In other words, within what is called 'basic doctrine,' there is a significant amount of knowledge that is practically useful for living in this world. Because such things are included in the teachings, even though there are other religious universities, there are things that cannot be learned there.
We do not have a culture where having faith or practicing religion makes one unable to work in this world and become 'useless individuals.' One can also become capable of working, and within those teachings, there are substantial parts that allow one to acquire 'royal studies.'
This applies not only to the humanities but also to the sciences, where one can acquire royal studies. Even for those in the sciences, after graduation, whether starting or working in a technology-related company, they will develop an ethos (sustained spirit) that enables them to become presidents or executives.
Moreover, those in the humanities will not only be able to manage many people. They are not just people who consume tax money; they are building knowledge that allows them to create added value and increase national wealth while managing many people.
The value of graduating from this university will be experienced by the first and second cohorts who will become seniors for those who follow, over the next ten years, but I have a certain confidence.
At HSU, fundamentally, we teach 'to create something from nothing.'
