A Society That Is Too Kind - Guidelines for the Heart by Ryuho Okawa, President - 219

This month's "Guidelines for the Heart" presents issues in modern society from the perspective of Buddhist law and truth. We spoke with Dean Toshihiko Izumi open_in_new of the Faculty of Future Creation at Happy Science University, who pointed out that "the problem arises not from a kind society, but from one that is too kind."

Born in Tokyo in 1971. Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law, Category III, passed the national civil service exam. In 1994, he joined Happy Science. After serving in the editorial department of 'The Liberty', Happy Science Academy, and as the head of the Seika-kan, he has held his current position since 2016.

The Dangerous Reason for Being 'Too Kind'

After reading this month's guidelines, I felt that this is precisely 'the current state of Japan', and the phrase 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions' came to mind. However, I believe that many people find it very difficult to understand 'why this is the road to hell.'

This issue can first be stated as follows: a 'society that is too kind' leads to an expansion of the national budget, resulting in fiscal deficits, and eventually, the nation will cease to exist. In such countries, taxes become heavier, and it leads to the notion that 'the people's information is necessary', resulting in a centralization of information like the My Number system, all controlled by the government, ultimately leading to a loss of freedom similar to that of China, which is very dangerous.

Another aspect relates to the 'meaning of life'. As President Ryuho Okawa teaches, humans are born into this world to 'train their souls'. Therefore, in a society where 'whether you make an effort or not, the country will save you', the meaning of training is lost, leading to 'the downfall of the soul'. A society where souls are in decline is, from a spiritual perspective, 'hell'.

'Faith and Self-Help' as the Key to Transformation

Of course, a minimum level of social security is necessary, but Japan is declining rapidly due to being a 'society that is too kind', and it has even begun to be referred to as 'Japan's disease' by the world. To rebuild this, we must indeed 'restart from faith and self-help', as indicated in these guidelines.

Such fundamental discussions cannot be addressed by existing political parties, so I hope you will read President Okawa's books, including 'The Laws of Hell' open_in_new and 'Novel: The Hell Priest' open_in_new, to learn 'what is right from the perspective of the divine'. Essentially, it is important for both the nation and individuals to return to principles and 'operate within the limits of income', and for many people to awaken to the meaning of life, work diligently, and walk the path of 'contributing' rather than being 'on the receiving end'.

These guidelines are 'a shout of compassion from the Buddha' to humanity that is on the path to 'hell'. Let us learn religious truths together and walk the right path.
