Let's have the spirit of 'self-help'【Words of Light】

This article is an excerpt from 'Hermes Angels' No.293 .
When there are more people who 'do things for themselves', the country develops.
This time, I would like to talk about 'the spirit of self-help'. This means 'to help oneself.' (In English, it's called 'self-help'). It's important to have that kind of mindset.
In any country, during periods of development, many people with this spirit of self-help emerge, that is, people who think, 'I will do things for myself.'
However, when the strength of the country declines and it starts to tilt, the number of people who cannot do things for themselves gradually increases.
These people say things like, 'The country should take care of it.', 'The city or prefecture should take care of it.', 'The school should do it.', blaming everything on others, but they do not mention their own responsibilities (※1).
When such people increase, even a country that was strong and doing well at one time will gradually decline.
※1 Responsibility... duties that one must do by oneself.
The increase of people relying on others in England.
The country of England is the same. In the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, when the national power rose significantly, remarkable individuals emerged who led the 'Industrial Revolution' (※2). These individuals were such a strong light that they influenced even other countries.
However, since the 20th century, due to the increase of people with a strong desire to rely on others, such as 'I want someone to take care of me.' or 'I want the country to take care of me.', the national power has gradually declined, leading to some troubles.
When everyone is motivated and thinks, 'I will live on my own strength,' the surroundings gradually improve, and one can manage without help from others. However, when everyone weakens and society becomes filled with people who need a lot of help from those around them, it can lead to a situation where things get worse for everyone.
That is, while it may be a kind society, it is also a society that is deteriorating.
If the number of people with the spirit of 'self-help' increases, Japan will grow!
Whether Japan can achieve another level of development in the future or will decline depends on this.
As long as children each have the spirit of self-help and the mindset of 'I will do my best on my own,' we can say that the country is okay. Such a nation can still continue to grow.
Let's become people who think about 'what I can do.'
The emergence of remarkable individuals often occurs when the country is rising and developing, and the appearance of such great people can inspire others to strive, bringing strength to the nation.
Therefore, I do not want everyone to become children who only ask others for help and cause trouble. Instead of becoming children who have a strong desire to rely on others, I want them to think, 'Is there more I can do by myself?'
