Victory for Happy Science in the Supreme Court. In the defamation lawsuit over Hiroshi's book 'Parting Ways with Happy Science' published by Bungeishunju, damages for numerous falsehoods have been confirmed.

Regarding the defamation lawsuit over Hiroshi's book 'Parting Ways with Happy Science' published by Bungeishunju (filed on March 17, 2020), on August 24, 2023, the Supreme Court decided to dismiss the appeal filed by Bungeishunju Ltd. and Hiroshi.

With this decision by the Supreme Court, the high court ruling that upheld the district court's decision ordering Bungeishunju Ltd. and Hiroshi, the defendants, to pay 1.21 million yen in damages to Happy Science has been finalized.

In this lawsuit, the court acknowledged that there were numerous falsehoods in the book by Hiroshi, which was published by Bungeishunju Ltd. without proper fact-checking with Happy Science.

We strongly urge Bungeishunju Ltd. and Hiroshi to sincerely accept the Supreme Court's decision, deeply reflect, repent, and refrain from blaspheming faith, making false statements, or slandering again.
