Rebuttal from Happy Science: To Protect Precious Faith from Slander

Born in 1959, graduated from Nada Junior and Senior High School, and the University of Tokyo Faculty of Letters. After working as a copywriter and CM planner at a major advertising agency, he joined Happy Science in 1991. He has served as Executive Director in charge of the Editorial Bureau and Principal of Happy Science Academy Junior and Senior High School, and has been in his current position since April this year.

In the August issue of the monthly 'WiLL', an 'Interview Article with Hiroshi' was published. The content of the article involved Hiroshi, the eldest son of President Ryuho Okawa, the founder of our organization, making baseless lies and slander against President Okawa and the organization.

Hiroshi has previously stated on YouTube that he 'does not want to be involved with the organization', while also saying, 'When I badmouth my father, the views increase' and 'I want to earn a million yen (every month)', spreading lies and slander as a means of gaining fame and making money. Our organization has sent 17 warning and protest letters pointing out Hiroshi's illegal acts and has tried to guide him. However, seeing no reflection, we dismissed him on June 25 this year and filed a lawsuit seeking damages with the Tokyo District Court.

In this article, we aim to correct the errors in Hiroshi's one-sided false statements and clarify the background.

The Life of Hiroshi So Far

Hiroshi was born in 1989 as the eldest son of President Ryuho Okawa and became an employee of our organization in 2008, the year he entered Aoyama Gakuin University's Faculty of Law. After graduating from university, he became the chairman of the organization but could not bear the weight of responsibility and quit after just two months. In 2013, he was seconded to a major construction company with the organization covering his entire salary. At that time, the woman he was dating became pregnant, and to persuade her parents for marriage, he insisted, 'I must be a regular employee, not a secondment', leading the organization to negotiate with the secondment destination, and he became a regular employee. However, after marriage, when a child was born and family life did not go well, he divorced after two years.

He also disliked working in the provinces at this construction company and said, 'It's tough to end up as an ordinary manager even if I stay until retirement', and resigned, returning to the organization as an employee in 2015.

In 2016, he became the President of New Star Production, the entertainment production company of our group, and was involved in planning, scripting, and acting in films produced by the group for about two years.

However, in October 2018, while on leave, he declared on an online video that he was unrelated to the organization, and since then, he has repeatedly made false and slanderous statements, such as being forced by President Okawa to marry the popular actress Fumika Shimizu (now Kiyome Miyako) and that spiritual messages are fake.

He Does Not Know Everything About the Organization

Hiroshi was in the position of chairman for about two months after graduating from university in 2012. In videos, he boasts about this and acts as if he knows everything about the organization, but that is not the case at all.

The reason Hiroshi became chairman was part of the education for new graduates. At Happy Science, as part of human resource development, we actively promote young people to help improve their abilities. In fact, two women in their 20s have been appointed as chairpersons of the organization, and Hiroshi is not special.

Low Work Ability and Lack of Social Common Sense

After receiving Hiroshi's intention to return to the organization from the construction company, he was accepted in 2015 as the person in charge of the film and entertainment department. However, due to his high pride and inability to work under others, and his confidence that no one else could handle entertainment in general, he was made the president of New Star Production.

However, in March 2017, it was discovered that he was dating a talent under the agency. In addition, acts of power harassment against employees and talents were recognized, and the board of directors sought his dismissal as president, but President Ryuho Okawa intervened and gave him another chance. Despite this, his work attendance was about once a week, and he spent the rest of his time dating or training at the gym, showing a significant lack of social common sense in his work attitude. Furthermore, he made many decisions that mixed public and private matters, such as expressing a desire to hire the woman he was dating as an employee and have her manage the production. Additionally, during the filming period of the movie 'Daybreak' in which he starred (October 2017), he prioritized appearing in an external small theater stage, causing millions of yen in losses in the production of the film, exposing his lack of management decision-making ability as a president. Due to this lack of work ability and social common sense, he had to be dismissed as president on November 23, 2017.

Originally, Hiroshi had a habit of 'giving up halfway' when difficulties arose, dropping out of the boys' high school he entered because he 'couldn't play', quitting the chairman position after two months, leaving the major construction company he was seconded to after two and a half years, and quitting again shortly after returning as an employee. His marriage also ended in a breakup after two years, and each time he caused a big fuss involving those around him.

It Was Hiroshi Who Aimed to Marry Ms. Kiyome Miyako

In the previous issue, Hiroshi claimed that President Ryuho Okawa told him about Ms. Kiyome Miyako (then Fumika Shimizu), 'You were married in a past life, so you should get married', but there is no such fact. In fact, in President Okawa's book, the guardian spirit of Ms. Kiyome clearly states, 'We were not married in a past life', so it is impossible for the President to say, 'You were married in a past life'. On the contrary, it was Hiroshi who, despite now denying spiritual messages, performed one himself and expressed his desire to marry Ms. Kiyome to those around him.

Specifically, on January 25, 2017, when Hiroshi became a channeler and delivered a spiritual message, a spirit that entered Hiroshi said, 'You will naturally understand who your partner is (Fumika Shimizu)', and 'Therefore, it is time for Hiroshi to make a firm decision', encouraging marriage with Ms. Kiyome. In response, Hiroshi said, 'I understand. (Marriage) is probably the right choice. So, I have to choose the right one. But I've failed once. I think that type is one that creates a happy family.'

Immediately after, when a staff member pressed Hiroshi, 'Do you want to get married as your own will?', Hiroshi expressed his intention to marry and also asked, 'Please support Fumika Shimizu.' In the article, Hiroshi denies the above facts as 'That's a lie', but this spiritual message and Hiroshi's statements are recorded and publicly available on the organization's official website.

There is no fact of marriage by divine revelation in our organization, nor does such a doctrine exist. Claims such as 'Before Ms. Shimizu, about ten people were recommended for divine revelation marriage and made to live together' are also false. Hiroshi was living in an employee dormitory at the time, where multiple employees lived on separate floors in their respective rooms.

The Real Reason Hiroshi Continues to Intentionally Criticize the Organization

Afterwards, Hiroshi began to believe that the marriage story told by the spirit was something President Okawa had said. Hiroshi, who has a spiritual constitution, often had his memories replaced, and his memory itself would disappear or the context would become confused, leading to frequent changes in what he said. He also had intense emotional swings, often harboring strong negative emotions or hostility towards people he had just had a good impression of.

When Ms. Kiyome joined our organization, Hiroshi repeatedly badmouthed President Okawa and took a familiar attitude, using his status as the founder's eldest son. As a result, Ms. Kiyome felt a physiological discomfort towards him. Eventually, when Ms. Kiyome said he resembled a certain celebrity, Hiroshi believed he was rejected, and partly out of spite, he has been slandering Ms. Kiyome at every opportunity.

Furthermore, since Ms. Kiyome began appearing in films produced by our group, public attention has focused on her, and Hiroshi's presence has faded. The difference in talent, such as acting and singing ability, is evident, and there is an overwhelming difference in the number of Twitter followers. Jealousy stemming from being shown the difference in ability is likely one of the reasons Hiroshi does not stop slandering.

In film production as well, he repeatedly created scripts with vulgar content and lacking in dignity that could not be screened as films produced by our group, not following the 'original plan' of Executive Producer President Okawa, failing to gain the support of believers. When President Okawa began to issue NGs on such scripts, Hiroshi rebelled, resenting President Okawa for not recognizing his scripts, and began to deny him as old and strange. These factors are believed to be the cause of the abnormal lies and slander.

Spiritual Messages Are Not Acting

Hiroshi explains that '(spiritual messages) are important to do in a way that seems like it', as if no spirits descend and the spiritual messages are performed as an act pretending to be the target person, but this is completely wrong. If the spiritual messages Hiroshi himself performs are like that, they are fake spiritual messages and nothing but fraud. Furthermore, it is tantamount to confessing that the words encouraging marriage with Fumika Shimizu in his spiritual message were actually his own desires. In reality, Hiroshi rarely attended the public spiritual message sessions conducted by President Okawa. He also never watched the videos later.

In normal spiritual messages, spirits such as Jesus Christ, philosopher Kant, the guardian spirits of President Putin and President Xi Jinping, and the guardian spirit of President Trump speak their true intentions for about two hours each, strongly convincing that each independent personality exists as a spirit. The diverse differences in personality among over 500 spirits are clear, and even if the same spirit appears multiple times over time, its personality remains consistent. The spiritual messages include advanced teachings, future predictions, and various specific descriptions of the spirit world. No matter how much preparation is done, it is not possible to engage in a nearly two-hour dialogue with a questioner as an act.

The spiritual messages delivered by President Okawa not only prove the existence of the spirit world but also teach the truth that humans continue to exist as individual spirits in the afterlife.

President Ryuho Okawa is a World Teacher

The article mentions that in 1991, when President Okawa appeared on the TV Asahi news program 'Sunday Project', he was refuted by Mr. Soichiro Tahara, but this is completely false. The reputation at the time was that President Okawa's freewheeling responses were brilliant.

Furthermore, Hiroshi claims that one of the teachings of our organization, Family Utopia, disappeared after President Okawa's divorce, but this is also false. Various books on Family Utopia have been published, and marriage prayers and child-rearing prayers are held at branches nationwide. Happy Marriage Consultation Offices have been established in five locations nationwide, and there are countless examples of overcoming crises and restoring harmonious marital relationships.

At the end of the article, Hiroshi says that becoming the Prime Minister of Japan is his father's 'aspiration', but President Okawa is a World Teacher who preaches universal values beyond ethnic and religious differences, and his aspiration is the salvation of all humanity and the construction of a new civilization.

A Life of Dropping Out from the Organization

Ultimately, the reason Hiroshi dropped out was not only due to a significant lack of faith in Buddha but also because he completely lacked the work ability and social common sense required as an executive of the organization. Until the age of 30, the organization considered it an educational period as a member of society, viewing failures as opportunities for learning and striving to guide him, but after the age of 30, fair evaluation of results is necessary, and it is the individual's responsibility thereafter.

President Okawa is an object of faith, and repeating slander through falsehoods is the most hurtful thing to believers. Knowing this and deliberately doing it is what makes Hiroshi unforgivable.

Even at the age of 30, Hiroshi lacks the discernment of an adult and constantly blames others for his failures due to his lack of work ability. He must know that he must atone for the numerous sins he has committed by himself.
