[Complete Victory for Happy Science] Regarding the Defamation Lawsuit Judgment on the Book by Gentosha and Mr. Hiroshi O.

Our organization filed a defamation lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court on October 4, 2023, seeking damages against Gentosha Inc. (President and CEO Tetsu Kenjo) and Mr. Hiroshi O. due to the damage to our reputation caused by Mr. Hiroshi O.'s book (published by Gentosha) and his statements on YouTube regarding the book. On August 9, 2024, the Tokyo District Court ruled in favor of our organization, ordering Gentosha Inc. and Mr. Hiroshi O. to pay a total of 1.65 million yen in damages to our organization (1.1 million yen jointly by Gentosha and Mr. Hiroshi O., and 550,000 yen by Mr. Hiroshi O. alone) and to delete the relevant YouTube video.

In this judgment, it was determined that multiple false statements made by Mr. Hiroshi O. in the book, which our organization had sued over, were not true, nor was there any reasonable basis to believe them to be true, and the defamation of our organization by Mr. Hiroshi O.'s falsehoods was recognized.

Furthermore, regarding Mr. Hiroshi O.'s YouTube statement that 'our organization exerted pressure on the judge, making them feel their life was in danger,' Mr. Hiroshi O. could not even claim it to be true during the trial, and the deletion of the false YouTube video was ordered.

Additionally, prior to the publication of the book, our organization had warned Gentosha Inc. that: ① multiple court cases with our group had repeatedly revealed that many of Mr. Hiroshi O.'s statements contained falsehoods, and ② appropriate background research and content verification were necessary before publishing the book.
Despite this, Gentosha Inc. ignored these warnings and published the book without conducting any background research on our organization, which is an act contrary to the ethics of a publisher. This resulted in the current judgment against Gentosha and Mr. Hiroshi O.

We strongly urge Gentosha Inc. and Mr. Hiroshi O. to sincerely accept this defeat, deeply reflect, and refrain from blaspheming faith, making false statements, or slandering in the future.
